1. Why are the parking restrictions at the Perth Airport so strict?

Parking restrictions are in place to ensure the safety and security of all visitors and the efficient operation of the airport.  Security requirements at all Australian airports have been upgraded by the Federal Government since recent terrorist attacks around the world and this includes terminal face access by motor vehicles.

2. Can I stop in a bus zone if there are no buses waiting?
You will appreciate that vehicles parking and stopping in bus zones create an ever-increasing problem for bus drivers pulling into and out of these bays.  The danger created by buses forced to double park and manoeuvre into and out of an inadequate space is of great concern to us, and we therefore view this offence very seriously.  You should note that it is irrelevant how long your vehicle remains stationary in the area - simply stopping the vehicle in a bus zone constitutes an offence.

3. What if my passengers got out (as fast as they could) while I was giving way to pedestrians on the pedestrian crossing?

It is imperative that pedestrian crossings are not obstructed by vehicles. Pedestrian safety is a major priority of Westralia Airports Corporation and vehicles stopped or even parked in such a manner cause visibility problems for pedestrians and other motorists alike.  We have designated the area either side of the crossing a ‘No Stopping’ zone, unless you are giving way to pedestrians.

4. What if I parked in a disabled parking space because my passenger had injured their leg and needed assistance?
It is an offence under the parking regulations to park in an area designated for people with disabilities without the correct authorisation.  Unauthorised parking in areas designated for people with disabilities is viewed as a serious offence.

5. What if my passenger’s flight or baggage was delayed and I was waiting for them to arrive?

If your vehicle was stopped at the time of the offence in an area designated as a ‘No Parking’ zone by virtue of road markings/signage, then this area allows the driver to pick up and drop off provided that the driver remains with the vehicle at all times and does not stop for more than two minutes.

6. What if I just stopped for a moment to drop off or collect a passenger?

If your vehicle was stopped at the time of the offence in an area designated as a ‘No Stopping’ zone by virtue of road markings / signage, then you should note that no part of a vehicle may be stopped in a ‘No Stopping’ zone as the entirety of such zones must be kept clear at all times.  It is irrelevant how long your vehicle remains stationary in the area - simply stopping the vehicle in a ‘No Stopping’ zone constitutes an offence.

7. What if I own the vehicle but I was not driving at the time of the offence or I have recently sold the vehicle?
If you were not the driver or you did not own the vehicle at the time of the offence you must complete a statutory declaration stating the name and address of the driver or owner of the vehicle, and send it to Westralia Airports Corporation.

8. Why am I not permitted to stop on Brearley Avenue and Horrie Miller Drive or other airport roads?

All airport roads are signed ‘No Parking’ or ‘No Stopping’ for a number of safety and security reasons.  Most importantly, is that over recent times many accidents have been caused by drivers attempting to re-enter the roadways or merge with moving vehicles at speeds of up to 80 km/h. This is an extremely dangerous practice which we cannot allow to continue.

9. If I want to appeal an infringement, what do I do?
All appeals must be in writing and posted to The Collector of Public Monies, Westralia Airports Corporation Pty Ltd, PO Box 6, Cloverdale WA  6985, or faxed to +61 8 9478 8889.

10. Where can I view the restricted parking areas at Perth Airport?

You can view the Restricted Parking Area maps here.

11.

Where can I park my motorcycle?

Motorcycles can be parked in any of the designated car parking areas at Perth Airport and standard parking rates apply.

Buses and caravans are not permitted to park in any of the car parking areas. This includes both LONGterm and SHORTterm car parks. The height restrictions are limited to vehicles 2.7mt and below.

12. Do I need to book a parking space in the Long Term Car Park?

No.  The Car Parks are operated on a first come, first served basis however there is no need to book your vehicle in advance. Simply follow the signs indicating the car parking area you prefer to utilise.

If the car park becomes full the boom gate will not open and you will be directed to alternative parking. We will always provide alternative options.

13. How do I transfer between the International and the Domestic Terminals?

The Inter-Terminal Shuttle Bus transfers passengers between the International and Domestic Terminals.  This service is only available to passengers who are transferring and travelling on the same day, and who have an ongoing ticket.

If you have an ongoing ticket, you must obtain a transfer voucher from the Qantas Ticketing counter before boarding the bus.  This service is complimentary to passengers travelling with Qantas, One World or on a Qantas code share flight however for passengers travelling with all other airlines, an A$8 per person charge applies.

If you do not hold an ongoing ticket for travel on the same day, you will need transfer by taxi.
