Terminal WA
Exciting new terminal for WA
Phase 1 of Perth Airport’s consolidation plans is the construction of a new terminal, Terminal WA at a cost of around $120 million.
The name, Terminal WA, recognises the key function this new terminal will play as it is being purpose-built to accommodate air services to regional Western Australia as well as supporting some interstate services.
This new terminal will be located to the left of the current International Terminal and we have already constructed the apron (aircraft parking area) for Terminal WA which can cater for 34 aircraft parking positions.
A number of airlines operating from the existing Domestic Terminals will relocate to Terminal WA.
The terminal is being designed with key components in mind; the environment, the customer experience and representing Western Australia through the design components.
A link road is also being constructed to link the international and domestic precincts and this is expected to be open to the public by the end of 2010. Once the road is open passengers, airport tenants and the general public will be able to transfer between the two precincts in around 10 minutes.
Construction of Terminal WA will commence this year and the new terminal will be operational in 2012.
